A great post by a friend – Andy Brown which he titled “Try To Do Things Yahweh”
I usually do an Andy B 2 minute video, most days. They are my way of making sense of some of the things I’ve seen or faced.
And they can range from something as simple as my Andy B 2 Minute Video, Rice Maker Handle – and what that can teach us about our relationship with God, to something a little more biblically inspired, like my Andy B 2 minute Video, Roundabouts, Judging and Waiting, S3, E23, which was an incident that happened out on the road, and what we can all learn from that!
With discussion around Fish and Chips, Sweet and Sour Sauce and Gloves hands, Andy B does his usual and takes ordinary, every day objects and situations, and helps us dig deeper into the basics of how Faith and Prayer work together.
With a very strong reminder, and warning – from the book of James – about why we need both Faith and Prayer, Andy B encourages us to all to get on our knees more, to learn to know Jesus better.
And, just like Fish and Chips or Sweet and Sour Sauce, Faith and Prayer complement each other perfectly.
Returning home after a mountain bike ride, Andy B approached a roundabout. We love these in the UK (it seems). Simply put, you come to a junction, with a circle in the middle. You give way to the right, and proceed carefully.
But they’re super simple to use! Indicate on your approach, and as long as nothing comes from your right, you have right of way (and of course, the British drive on the correct side of the road – the left – hence giving way to the right!).
Life is full of ups and downs.
Some days we can fly along, and others it’s like were tasked with stirring treacle, with an oversized paddle, on a cold day! But sometimes, flying isn’t helpful. And sometimes that treacle simply needs stirring!
Heat can do funny things to us.
But so can our memories!
How easily can we forget how good we may have been at something, because our failures always shout louder don’t they?
A wonderful friend of Andy B – Olly, from Nigeria – posted a really funny look at how Africans and Nigerians pray, against how the rest of the
For story time, Dave the Dog counts to two, not three! Although there are three things in the story – Manna, Quail and Water – for some reason Dave the Dog only counts to two – find out why in this episode of Little Blessings Online.
Dave the Dog was extremely excited about a food story but was baffled by the Manna and the ‘Quail’s Quiff’ or should I say headtorch! See for yourself what Dave is talking about!
This is a great post from a wonderful friend of mine – Alan.
I can’t recommend his blog enough – it’s definitely worth checking it out; Devotional Treasures is a treasure trove of posts!
He titled it “Only What Counts”
Modern Christianity has skewed how we see God and the devil. It has skewed God into some sort of best mate or pal. And we absolutely should see God as always approachable. But we should do so, seeing Him with the respect we’d have for an earthly father, than just a mate.
This is an edited version of an Art Time Video we made in 2020 – this new version simply has better sound!
Jo and Peter show us how to make flatbread – so easy and with only two ingredients:
In Season 4, Episode 9, of Little Blessings Online, Jo Jo and Andy B focus on food – prepare to get hungry!
There are pictures of food that might make your mouth water!
There’s food in the StoryTime and even in Art Time, JoJo makes food!
Food Glorious food….!
Go Deeper with Andy B, as he talks about how to be flexible.
He looks at the importance of being flexible physically, and how that relates to being flexible spiritually.
God made us in His image. And God is emotional – just look at the life of Jesus, who is God, and you see the perfect Man, with emotions!
So emotions and feelings, clearly, are how Go made us to be! But how much credence should we give to our feelings and emotions?
Andy B was having a little quiet time with God, and was reading Isaiah 66.
In the second verse of this scripture, God tells us the sort of people He is looking to.
We get reminders to renew our house insurance, our car insurance, our breakdown cover and host of other things.
But do we put as much effort into ensuring our car doesn’t suddenly become illegal to drive on the road, or let our house insurance run out ; if we’re renting in the UK this is something we can’t, not, have.
Time with God can be so easily squeezed out of our days due to the unexpected things that crop up.
As Christians – when we pray – are we praying to a loving, Father God who desires us to spend time with Him?
Or do we prefer to pray using a non-permanent pen, just in case we got our prayer wrong and don’t want to look foolish.

Real Talk – Real Life! #KeepitReal
In Season 4, Episode 8, of Little Blessings Online, Jo Jo and Andy B look at stormy weather – rain, thunder, lightning – very frightening- and even cyclones and tornados – stormy stuff!
Join in with the actions for songs about animals going in two by two and Trinity 3 which sounds like ‘three blind mice’ because that’s the tune!
As usual, with Story Time, Art Time, and Song Time, there is loads for you to do, make, and sing along to.
Go Deeper with Andy B, who talks about ‘the warm up’ in relation to church and that uncommonly used word “edification”.
He looks at the idea of going to church, not to be served and to ‘consume’, but to edify fellow Believers, just as it says in our Scripture, 1 Corinthians 14:26.
We wouldn’t go the gym and expect to get fit by spectating. In the same way, we shouldn’t got to church and simply be consumers – we’re called to edify one another, and that’s means arriving at church, ready to worship and get involved in what is going on; as active participants – church is not meant to be a social club, after all!
For story time, Dave the dog shows off his counting skills as Jo Jo tells the story of Moses and more miracles – the top three – one, two, three!
There are, in reality, ten miracles, but Dave the Dog can only count to three, so Jo Jo choses three miracles – can you guess which three she will choose?
Doing what God asks us to do can often start out really exciting. But are we doing it to be liked, or get likes or more downloads?
Or are we serving God, out of obedience and trust?
Some days and weeks can be easier than others.
Sometimes, we can hit Tuesday morning and feel like the end of our working week is further than we can manage.
But God reminds, us repeatedly, that when we put our hands and lives in His, we’ll always what we need, to accomplish what He desires for us to accomplish – when we walk and work with Him.
For story time, Dave the dog is in for a real treat as he helps Jo Jo tell the story of a stick – his favourite thing in the world – “stick, stick, stick”, as Dave the Dog would say!
Strange things are happening in the story today and a snake appears, you have got to check it out!
