Sunday PLUS, Proverbs 2
Tomorrow we’ll be carrying on with our look at the book of Proverbs, in the Old Testament, and what it can teach us.
In this week’s Marriage Matters, Andy B and Jo talk about friends, whether they are friends of the wife, friends of the husband or both or whether they are friendships formed before or after marriage.
60 Seconds is all it takes to make sure you’ve not missed out on any of our posts, videos and resources – or exciting events we’ve got coming up.
This is another two part #TestimonyTuesday miracle of God’s kindness, goodness and an answer to prayer that feels like it rivals Daniel, praying, and an angel interrupting his prayer time with the answer – before he had even said Amen and finished!
Andy B begins this week’s episode of Endurance by first explaining what exactly we mean by the mundane with the emoji “meh.” He goes on to compare short-term happiness with the eternal joy of the Lord. Short-term happiness, or pleasure, obviously doesn’t last and could become a bit of an addiction.
This week’s episode of Endurance is all about going through the mundane. The firsts are great but after a while anything can become mundane, day in day out the same routine can become dull and uninteresting. But as Christians aren’t we supposed to be happy?
I’ll be honest I quote lines from the Lord of the Rings often in my daily life. Mostly whilst among close family members as they understand me, and they too are Lord of the Rings fans! At the start of the first film, Bilbo says to Gandalf, the wizard: “I want to see mountains, Gandalf!”
Peter & JoJo get together to encourage us, as always, to pray as a family. And they continue their series on using objects around the home to help us stay focused in prayer.
Andy B and Jo talk about the wider family – Parents, Siblings, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents and the in laws and how these family relationships can affect our marriages for good or bad. Jo opens by sharing some family matters found in the bible, the good, the bad and the ugly!
On my cycle today I ended up at the coast. It’s a beautiful, if rather barren place. But I loved it. The wind was hitting my face. The sound of the waves incredibly relaxing crashing on each other, or the shore below me. It was wonderful!
This week I’ve started the process of using Vimeo to display all of the videos on our website. I say ‘started’ because we have more than 450 videos to ‘process’ and each one needs a little work before it can be added to Vimeo.
This week’s #TestimonyTuesday is Part II of a mini-series about a 2nd free car that Andy and Jo were gifted. They’d had to suddenly scrap a car, were both unemployed and needed a car for interviews. Catch part 1, A Miracle Car, Part I.
Dave the Dog and Jo Jo chat online about Dave’s recent experience of an Easter Egg Hunt. He was very excited, but had a few troubles along the way.
Jo Jo still isn’t quite sure why, or how, Dave even found a Satsuma and a rock, and sets Dave straight about why Easter Island really doesn’t have anything to do with Easter.
So what does Easter and what do a wooden cross, churches, people and crowds, hot cross buns, chicks, chocolate, food, bank holiday and traffic jams all have in common!
Kick start, reboot or boost your Family Prayer Time with the Serenity Prayer:
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference….
