S04E051, Look Back, But Don’t Fall Over! Andy B 2 Minute Video

Avatar Andy B | 21/03/2022

You can Listen, Read, or Watch, the video.

It’s really healthy to look back at what we’ve accomplished.  It’s good to remember what we’ve done, or how we tried to do something last time.

It’s great to reflect on where we’ve done amazing things, and even not so amazing things. It can even be healthy to remember the foolish things we did and managed to escape serious injury.

However, if we look back too long, we end up risking falling over. Because we’re still walking forwards at the time!

So another Andy B 2 Minute Video. And what's got me today is the fact that this morning was nothing like last week, or the week before that. It's been pretty good.

0:10
I've got some washing on the line, in the end three loads of washing, which always makes me very, very happy. I've got the fire lit brought some wood through because it was a bit cold this morning, there's going to be tomorrow. And I've got quite a lot done!

We've got quite an exciting week, because I've got my very first book launch on Friday, which is super exciting. So I spent most of my morning doing that. And I've been talking to people on WordPress and various other social media platforms that we've got, and catching up on all sorts of things.

So the morning today was just not my normal morning. And I've called this Look Back But Don't Fall Over because, sometimes, it's good to look back to remind ourselves where we've come from. It's good to look back and think, yes, I've done this and I've done that.

0:55
But it's also important that we don't look back for so long that as we're walking forwards that we actually fall over.

So my Andy B 2 Minute Video thought for you for today is simply this. It's really good to look backwards. It's really good to remember. It's really good to reflect. But don't do it for so long that you fall over.

1:15
This morning, at half past nine, my alarm went off on my watch, and I know it's my time to take my tablets that I have to take every 12 hours. And I was busy, and I forgot. So, a little while later, I walked past I thought I haven't actually taken it. I was so busy reflecting that I actually did fall over, a little bit, and take my medication a bit late.

1:33
So, have a think about what's gone on in your lif. Look backwards for sure. It's good to reflect., It's good to remember but don't look back for so long that you, like me this morning, fall over.

Falling over is my specialist subject…I need to be constantly aware that I don’t move too fast or turn around suddenly, or the room starts spinning. It is a bit of the same in my walk with God; if I lose my focus I lose sight of His Path and I find myself spinning out of control. May He guide me in a way I can keep my eyes on Him!
Thank you for this valuable lesson and reminder Andy.

We must keep our focus in the Lord. Yes indeed. He surprises me often when my focus on Him lets me get done something I was struggling to do…but now can achieve with less stress, and greater satisfaction!

You word it so very well. Yes, it’s so easy to slip away from God’s path and we can end up careering out of control, but misinterpreting that movement as good because at least it’s movement – sometimes just standing still is the best we can do!
