Our studio camera is great! The quality is outstanding, and it can even record 4k video should we want to. When setting it up I popped in an SD memory Card I had kept for a while in a drawer.

We’re enjoying the mature garden we’ve inherited with our home. It’s stunning to see all sorts of flowers, bushes and wildlife taking shelter in the various places that such a garden creates.
Andy B 2 Minute Video, Half and Half, S04E74
In the garden, to one side of our home, sits a bush. It has the most stunning, beautiful, purple flowers, that literally can take your breath away, such is the colour. But that’s only half the story. Because the other half of this same bush is looking rather barren and dead.

Holidays. From the south of France to Alaska, from Venezuela to New Zealand, people like holidays, and we all need downtime, one way or another, to help recharge those batteries so we can serve God better.

Whenever Jo needs to be in the office for just a few hours I take the opportunity to take her in. We get some time together, and I can get some shopping done. With 5 of us in the house, there’s always more food shopping to be done!
Andy B 2 Minute Video, Things have a habit of changing! S04E68
Through life things are always changing around us. Whether it’s the latest development in mobile phones or the most recent, progressive opinion on what society should look like, there are always these shifts around us that we need to pay attention and deal with.

Feelings come and go. They can be like the changing of the winds at the seaside and, if we let them, they’ll blow us round in circles. Feelings are a great way of measuring our emotions. They act as a thermometer for our body. But, feelings can lie too!
Andy B 2 Minute Video, A change is as good as a rest, S04E070
We might change the wallpaper or some paint to refresh a room. It can change our mood and lift that room so we want to spend more time with it.
From haircuts to wallpaper, and cars to our favourite restaurant, things change. Sometimes, the simplest things can make something appear entirely new and different.

Ever found yourself wondering around the house looking for something you already have in your hand? Or perhaps you put the milk in the cupboard and the tea bags in the fridge?
Now, of course I’ve never done those things myself. I’m just using the examples a friend told me about.
Andy B 2 Minute Video, Keep Checking With The Real World, S04E067
When we spend too long staring at a computer screen we can end up being a little too deep in the Virtual World. It’s easy to be absorbed into what is virtual, missing the reality of the Real World.

It’s a great thought to seek to only give God our best. But we need to check whether giving God what we have, and making sure that is the best we can offer, doesn’t become assigning human values to what we think God will want from us.
While grabbing some time with Jo, Andy B drove her to work. This meant they had some time together while Jo worked a half day, that they wouldn’t have otherwise had together.
And we should want to give God our best. We should desire to set aside quality moments of deliberately set aside time with God, each and every day. But God doesn’t time how long we spend with Him. He doesn’t check which bible version we have open or if we have a bible open at all. He doesn’t verify whether our prayers are spoken, or written, or whether we’ve watched the latest devotion from an ordained minster before sitting down God for a set period of time. Because what God desires is our heart.
One of God’s Greatest Gifts is Unanswered Prayers
Jeremiah 29:11 – New Living Translation: For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
I was flicking through some music the other day, and came across one of older albums. It’s a live version of Garth Brooks on tour, and the one song that always jumps out at me is the I’ve linked below, and it’s the title for this blog.
Throughout our life, we’ve often faced trials of many kinds, and this frequently leads to prayer. But, sometimes, our prayers are more like we’ve rewritten that well known scripture above.

For our family devotional today, I thought about colour, and how it can sometimes feel like the colour has gone out of our life. There is a great episode of Garfield, which we watch during the devotional today.
We spend 20 minutes thinking and focusing on the bible and God. Then we spend time praying together.
