I was cycling the exact same route for several days in a row. However, the wind direction – and speed – changed each day. I went from having a tail wind on a stretch of road one day, to a head wind on the same section of road the next. I saw my average speed double with the wind behind me, and drop to half when it was against me. It was quite noticeable!

If you have ever played Snakes and Ladders it is a super simple game. Shake your dice, move the number of spaces you’re told to move and the basic goal is to never land on a snake! Ladders help you jump up the game, to get nearer to the end (first one to the end wins!). But, land on a snake, and it takes you back the way you’ve just come. But, I wonder if we sometimes thank that God is sitting there just wishing and hoping for us to land on a snake. But, that simply isn’t God’s nature.

God’s love for us is always overwhelming. I find I mind boggling!! That He loves me how much? After everything I’ve done? Maybe that’s why we sometimes prefer not to consider. It’s almost like we prefer to stay away, so we don’t feel the fullness of His love for us. But God loves us, in order that we can be closer to Him. Conviction and Guilt are two words that are often used in pulpits, books and Christian conversations. But, they really do matter when it comes to God’s love.
