The Lord is my strength
I spent s short time with God this evening and feeling a little low I remembered Habakkuk:
‘ Even though the fig trees are all destroyed, and there is neither blossom left nor fruit, and though the olive crops all fail, and the fields lie barren; even if the flocks die in the fields and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will be happy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, and he will give me the speed of a deer and bring me safely over the moutains. ‘ Habakkuk 3:17-19
I found myself putting in my own words, which was therapeutic; it got it all out of system, like writing a psalm!
This Scripture reminds me that when things don’t make much sense and troubles come flooding in, God gives strength.
I am also reminded that I need to live in the strength of the God’s Spirit and not in my own strength.
