#TestimonyTuesday: Panic, Peace and Perfect Timing

Every day is a learning day, and every day God is still very much at work.

Read our latest testimony of God at work today!

Our car broke down. We’ve got a pretty good bus network and timetable. But, daily life – for us – and with no money for repairs, were left stranded for, potentially, several months.

God had other plans!

#TestimonyTuesday: Panic, Peace and Perfect Timing

When we heard a strange noise coming from the rear of our car I figured we should get it looked at so I phoned up our breakdown service – when they arrived they said the car shouldn’t be driven any further, except to a local garage: the brake pads had worn away, on one side, rubbing against the brake discs (and destroying them) – because a calliper had been prevented from doing it’s job of adjusting the brake pads as they wore away.

We faced, suddenly, a huge and unexpected repair bill, far larger than we had the money to pay. We also know we desperately needed a car for daily life stuff, and that we wouldn’t have enough money for several months.

We prayed and prayed! And, more than a week later, we suddenly received a gift to cover the cost of the car repairs, and for the highest amount we’d been told it could cost.

In the end, we collected the fully repaired car on Jo’s birthday, and the bill was less than half the original estimate. It was less than 2 weeks off the road!

It also meant that, due to the timing, we didn’t have to let our church down, because I could, indeed, lead worship as planned for many weeks.

To God be the glory!
