I got the job!!

As many of you know, just before Christmas last year I lost my job. I worked my last official day on the 7th January, since that day I have been on a mission job searching.

Here’s a rough summary of what’s happened:

• I applied for about 70 jobs
• I had multiple rejection emails
• I was ghosted a few times – basically that’s when they say they will get back to you but completely ignore you.
• I had about 8 interviews
• I had 2 follow up interviews after the initial interview
• I received 1 offer!

So now, I am at the last point of receiving the offer and sending all my details.

Here is the story behind this offer –

Last week on Thursday my friend and I went to a work fair – a place where many workplaces were doing seminars and presentations. While I was there I received a call from a lady called Joanna. She called to offer me an interview the next day, Friday. I accepted and got on with the day.

The interview was the best I had by far! Conversation flowed freely and she said I gave great answers to the questions. At the end of the interview she said she will meet the company and discuss best candidates for the job. She advised that whoever is selected will receive a call that afternoon.

So, I waited and waited but no call. I admit, I was down about this and seeked the Lord as it seemed this truly was the job! The weekend had passed by and still no response, I sent an email to Joanna to check if she had heard anything. She responded saying they are still in talks and that she would call me Monday.

Monday arrived, I waited all day and had no call. Until… Later that day I attended a meeting at the church for an upcoming event, during the meeting she called me! This was about 17:30, on the phone call she said tomorrow I will definitely have the answer for the job.

I waited all day Tuesday for the call but no call came. For some reason this time I was not upset but was in peace, so I just got on with doing other things.

Wednesday this week I had a meeting with the leader from the church to do some planning for this event. I was so focused on Gods Kingdom work that I did not think about work. At the end of this meeting the pastor took me home. Just as I arrived home the company called and said I have the job! Not just that, the start date is the day after this big event – Gods timing is perfect!!

So through all the setbacks and hard times I finally have a job and truly believe God will bless this opportunity! In case you are wondering, it’s an English customer service job for a project, but there are many opportunities for growth and moving into different departments!

Praise God for his goodness! Also, thank you for all those who have prayed for me! Much appreciated!
