Preparation is king! You just can’t beat coming up to something which needs your full attention, to be already relaxed by the effort you put in before hand.
In September 2023 I led a small but dedicated team to launch a Global Media Organisation – a Radio Station which was UK based, but with a Global Heart.

And we did it!

But it didn’t just ‘happen’ randomly – it took lots of effort to ensure that when we were ready to broadcast to the world that we had the correct licences, a broadcasting system, computers, music and many more parts of the puzzle!

In life we need to be prepared. Sure, things will come along which we aren’t expecting, but if we’ve already done all we can we can relax and simply carry on doing our best knowing we could do better. And there is a great deal of comfort in that because life will always throw a few unexpected issues our way!

Just a thought...

[00:00:00] So another Andy B 2 minute video. A brand new Season, bit of a different look. It's all good! So I thought we'd look a little bit today at going Live because since I was last doing these videos, we've started a radio station, Pure247Radio.org.

[00:00:22] Now as part of that, we've done lots of work. We've done lots of preparation. We've got licenses. We've got music loaded. We've done loads and loads of work to make it ready. We've now got nearly 70 hours of live broadcast every single week.

[00:00:38] So what are we going to learn from that for Andy B 2 Minute Video? Well, going Live. There was a lot of work done before we hit that launch button, 1st of September 2023.

[00:00:50] We did loads of work to make sure that we were good together, that it was ready.

[00:00:53] We did loads of work to make sure we had the right music, that we knew what we were doing, that we had computers set up, [00:01:00] working keyboard, working mouse, is it all going to function? We did everything we could to make sure we were ready and good to go so that when we did launch, it was ready.

[00:01:10] Going live. Preparation is king! I think to many people I come across as somebody who just wings it when it comes to delivering an All Age Service. Or winging it when I'm doing my radio show, 'cause it looks a little bit chaotic. But actually there's an awful lot of planning that's gone on behind the scenes, some of which you probably will never be aware of.

[00:01:30] And I think in our lives, as Christians, there's an awful lot of preparation that we need to do every day. We can't just run into the day, launch and off we go. Yeah, we can. There are days when it gets busy. There are days when we have technical faults and I'm literally at the microphone a minute or so before. Or even a few minutes after I'm coming after the 3 minute News. It's not ideal. It's not great, but I make it work. But I also don't lie and say I've been there for an hour.[00:02:00]

[00:02:00] It's important to be authentic.

[00:02:01] It's important to be honest.

[00:02:02] It's important to do all the preparation that we can.

[00:02:05] And, as Christians, that means in the morning, we have a moment in the day when we set the day before God. Rather than launching into the day and arrogantly saying well I know what's gonna happen. I've got these plans and those plans, I've got my calendar, it's all sorted.

[00:02:19] Things come and they go, things change. And, actually, being prepared means being flexible. Being prepared means having things ready that you may never use. They're not wasted, but they are important to have those things ready for us to use.

[00:02:35] So Andy B Two Minute Video, we're back with a brand new season, another hundred of these. My challenge to you is simply this, what are you doing each day to make sure you're ready for the day ahead with God.
